Crystal J. McCoy Swanigan, also known as Pastor, Lady, and Elder Swanigan was born and raised in St Louis, Missouri. She was married in 1980, at age 16, to her best friend and amazing husband, District Elder Harmon L Swanigan. She is the mother of 2 remarkable children Dr Eric Swanigan, (married to Lady LaShawnda) and Krista Swanigan Blackmon, BSN-RN (married to Marcus Blackmon). Lady Swanigan has five talented and precious grandchildren.
Crystal graduated from Missouri Baptist University, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Leadership and Ministry. Crystal has taught and preached the gospel since 1986. Elder Crystal Swanigan was a licensed minister in 2003 and 2006 she was ordained as minister under the Pentecosal Assemblies of the World, Inc. Crystal has worked hard as an entrepreneur since 1992 as a licensed Missouri Insurance Property & Casualty and Life and Health Producer. Since 2001 she has successfully served the community as a listing and selling Real Estate Agent. She currently works as a claims manager for Powers Insurance & Risk Management. Crystal is the founder and director of God of a Second Chance Ministry established in 1982, whose motto is Mending Hearts and Homes. She created programs to bridge gaps for people needing to pivot as they rebounded into having a second chance at life. Lady Crystal is the daughter of Bishop A. John McCoy and Dr. Norma J. McCoy, who pastored Grace Apostolic Church for 48 years, and passed the mantle on April 27, 2014.
Pastor Crystal Swanigan has had the privilege of leading God’s people as a visionary and administrator with her husband District Elder Harmon Swanigan, Senior Pastor of Grace Apostolic Family Worship Center. Pastor Swanigan is an uncompromising preacher and teacher of the Word of God, author, psalmist, organist, and choir director, all to the glory of God. Currently every morning 5:30AM CST Monday through Friday Pastor Swanigan is on her prayer line (314)356-2829 crying out to Jesus and sharing words of wisdom.
Pastor Crystal Swanigan served as a leader for 10 years with the Midwestern District Council.Three years she served as vice president of the Minister’s Wives and Widows Ministry. For the past seven years, she served as President of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World 12 Episcopal District Bishops Wives, Pastor Wives, Ministers Wives, and Ministers Widows known as Ministers Wives and Widows Auxiliary.
Pastor Swanigan, with her phenomenal executive officers team, and the leading ladies authored two published books under Pastor Swanigan's administration titled: Recipes for the Soul and Surviving the Raging Storms. Pastor Swanigan enjoyed the time she spent spearheading, training, developing the wives and widows and equipped wives on every level of ministry, and providing support and encouragement to surviving widows.
For eight years Lady Swanigan served as the Midwestern District Media Director providing Crystal Clear Communication, nightly council announcements, telephone conference calls, social media announcements, and one on one and group interviews. The recording and photographs of events aided in keeping the MDC members and friends to get and remain informed. In 2017 in a 90 day time span, Elder Crystal Swanigan and her team devised the first handheld Google and Apple App for the Midwestern District Council. Building the app was a great accomplishment and upgrade for the MDC.
In 2022 Elder Crystal Swanigan was appointed by Bishop Larry O. Jones, the Diocesan of the 12th Episcopal District, to serve as chairman of the International Missions Department of the Midwestern District Council. Elder Swanigan solicits prayer for God's wisdom and guidance to procure partners, corporate and individual sponsors/donors.
